We are Black and White

The last 12 months have been more fun than anyone could have anticipated or planned for. Today we have sent out Happy New (Tax) Year cards, or Thank You cards to all our clients, as more than ever, we want to make you aware how grateful we are for your business and how we are here to help and support you, more than ever before.

Don’t worry, the cards are on recycled card and trees have been planted to absorb the carbon created from the production and delivery of the cards.

Please find below some of the key updates from us as a team.

Like any small business we are always seeking ways to learn and improve. This year, more than ever before has been fraught with challenges, but also presented key opportunities for us. There are three key updates we want to share with you:

1. Back-to-basics mentality;
2. Team Changes; and
3. Software Changes.

1. Back To Basics

It’s great to go after the shiny new stuff, but honestly if the foundations aren’t strong, then everything can come crashing down. It is for this reason that we are going back to basics.

Here are our thoughts from our work on our Purpose, Vision and Value:

• Purpose – We love to help people and we do that via great accounting services:
  • Giving you space to focus on what you do best;
  • Helping you stay in love with what you do; and
  • Being by your side through times of change.

• Values – how we work together and with clients – we are an ELITE team:
  • Empathy – get to know you, we treat you as individuals, we seek to understand, not judge;
  • Leadership – being proactive, being honest, being responsible – we deliver what we say we will;
  • Innovation – we are constantly learning from CPD, experience, embracing change, feedback, building skills and knowledge, to challenge the status quo;
  • Teamwork – we partner to support each other’s success, we build trust through our actions and integrity; and
  • Excellence – our expertise steers and navigates you through the quagmire of compliance, in a timely and organised way (feeds into clarity R&R of all responsibilities).

2. Team Changes

During coronavirus for one reason or another three of our team moved on to new challenges. We are however delighted to say that we have finally found some great people to add to our team. Mehreen, Sehar and Shara have now joined and watch this space as there will be more announcements here to follow shortly, which we are very excited by. Please welcome them to the team when you speak with them. They are very excited to join and really look forward to working with you! They will be key to taking Black and White to the next level.

3. Software Changes

In addition to the changes in the team, we have also done a landscape assessment of all of our workflows, processes and software and made some big investments here to ensure we do everything more efficient and effectively than ever before. You may find things we send through look a bit different, and this will probably be why. You, our clients, are at the centre of everything we do, so please share any thoughts or ideas you might have here.

Happy but not satisfied

I will sum this up by saying that we are happy with our progress as a business, but never satisfied as we can always do more. We ask that you hold us accountable to our Purpose, Vision and Values, and continue to give us your thoughts and feedback to help us improve the service we provide you with. • We want to be your One Stop Shop for all your accounting, business and tax advice. In the unlikely event we cannot help you directly, we have some great Strategic Partners, waiting in the wings to help and support you if and when you need it;

• We have an expediated service available for those critical times when you need something “yesterday”; and
